Snippet are predefined components that can be used to add structure and functionality to a content page.

To access Snippet, open the page and click on the Snippet button on the Editor.

Select the Snippet you want to add to the page.

You will need to complete the fields according to the choose snippets.

Content on the page

When you open or create a page, you can type directly on the Content Editor.

It’s good practice to write in short sentences and short paragraphs.

  • be concise

  • be friendly – use ‘we’ rather than ‘Barnardo’s’, address the user directly as ‘you’

  • use the active voice (passive takes up more space, is harder to read, and makes us seem impersonal)

  • use language people are using (not necessarily the language Barnardo’s uses) e.g. most people talk about local councils not local authorities

If your body text is more than a couple of paragraphs long it’s a good idea to break it up using subheadings (headings within the body text).

Use H2 (select Heading 2 from the format dropdown) for your first level of subheading in body text (this helps screenreaders identify sections of text).

You can add headings, bold text, links etc in this section.

Teasercard List

This is a way of featuring links to other pages on the site through teasers.

  • Image-  Optional (upload or use existing one)
  • Text - enter the text or description
  • Card title (Required) - enter the title and link

Accordion and Accordion Items

Use the accordion component if there's a need to have a lot of content on one page, so the user can see headings at a glance and go only to the section they need to see.

Add the Accordion snippet first. You can add a Title if you want to

In the Items section, add the Accordion Item one by one

Enter the TItle and Body text.

Call to action (CTA) button

Allows you to add a button inside the content

You will need to complete:

  • Alignment
  • Version
  • CTA - add the text and link

Contact Info

Allows you to display the contact information.

You are required to complete:

  • Team name
  • All other fields are optional

Social Media Account

Allows you to enter the social name and links to your service account.

You will need to complete the URL and name for the corresponding link to appear.

Inline Media

If you need to have an inline image or video (a picture or video screen with text wrapping round it), put your cursor where you want the image to appear in the text and click inline media from the components at top of body block.

Select left or right alignment in the inline media popup screen. Left is Barnardo’s default position but right works better if there are subheadings and/or bullet lists anywhere near the inline image or video.

You can also select what proportion of the text box your image or video takes up (its size compared with the surrounding text) by selecting from the image/text split dropdown.

  • Quote - required
  • Name

  • Image
  • Title
  • Body
  • Button text/link

DownloadableFile/ Downloadable Resources

Add DownloadableFile snippet

Add Downloadable Resources for each document

Media and text

The Media and text allows editors to lay out content on larger screens more effectively.

  • Image - optional
  • Heading
  • Subtitle
  • Text
