The actual footer text isn’t editable in the CMS. If you need to change it, get in touch with the developers.

The links to content in the current footer (contact us, privacy notice, etc.) are also hard coded, so if you need to add, update or remove one of these, you have to get in touch with the developers.

The menu/navigation structure of the new site is currently in development (including the footer menu) so until this is in place it’s probably wise not to add anything to the footer menu.

If, however, there’s an urgent need to add a link to the footer, the following instructions will work – though they’ll need to be updated once the new menu structure is in place.

Click the Groups tab in the top menu bar

In the operations column, select the site whose footer you want to add something to, then select menus in the dropdown

On the footer row of the Menus page, click on the arrow in the operations column (right-hand side of screen) and select add link.

On the Create microsite: group menu (footer) page,

add the title of the page you want to add to the footer in the menu link title field. This field is for the title as it will appear in the menu. Normally it’ll be the title of the page in question, but not necessarily (if the page has a long title you can make it shorter for the menu).

Start to type the actual page title in the Link field, It’ll suggest the title or give you a dropdown list. Click the title of the page you’re adding and title and node number will appear in this field.

Leave the Enabled box ticked (unless you want your page to be a hidden menu item).

Add a short description of your page to the Description field. This is hover text to appear over menu link so it needs to be short. Use the teaser description or a shortened version of it.

It’s not advisable to tick Show as expanded as we don’t want to bloat the footer with links.

Ignore weighting for now.

Click Save, and your link will appear in the footer. It will look a bit clunky and out of place alongside the hard-coded links, so as explained above, this is not advisable until the new menu structure is in place.

To edit or remove a footer link that isn't hard coded, follow the process above but click Edit menu instead of add link on the footer row of the Menus page.
