Selecting search boxfrom the components at the top of the body block makes an Edit search box screen pop up
a search block appear on your page with a dropdown offering to prefilter search according to 5 content types: event, news, policy, service, shop. This function isn’t currently working: whichever content type you choose, the search result the user gets will include all content types.
Click OK and the search block appears on your page
You can add a title but until the prefiltering bug is fixed it would be misleading to have titles like ‘Search our policies’ or ‘Find a Barnardo’s shop’ etc.
You can also add placeholder text which appears in the search field when published, but current design system thinking is that this is confusing and shouldn’t be used.
The search box appears on your published page like this
Whatever search term the user puts in, they’ll get a search results page with all the results from both new and old Barnardo’s websites, not just web pages but old PDF publications, news stories, etc.
Development work is ongoing on this component such as enabling the user to filter search results but that’s not live yet. Please update this page when ready.
