To make a quote stand out on a page like this

rather than just using quotation marks, select the Quote component from the panel at the top of the body block

and populate the fields in the quote component that appears in your page block

Image

to add a photo of the person you’re quoting, put the cursor in the image field, then click in the panel at top of text block

then click the image you want in the ‘Select media to embed’ library so a tick appears on it, then scroll to the bottom of the media library page and click select media.

In the embed media popup, add alt text if it isn’t already there, then click embed

If the picture you need isn’t in the ‘select image’ library, see Add image to library.

Quote, name and job title

Write the quotation in the Quote field.

Don’t add quotation marks, these are generated automatically as part of the quote component.

Write the name and title of the person you’re quoting in the Quote field.

The Job title field doesn’t have to be an actual job, as long as it describes the person quoted. It could be foster carer, for example, or care leaver, or Barnardo’s supporter.

The image, name and job title fields aren’t mandatory. For example, if you leave the image and job title fields blank, the quote on the published page will look like this

It’s obviously preferable with an image and job title, as in the quote below.

Walking up to the family’s front door the first time was a bit nerve-wracking, but they were all so lovely and friendly. I have got to know them all really well and I enjoyed the experience very much. I have learnt so much in addition to my course in terms of families who move here from other countries, and about volunteering with Barnardo’s.
