If you select the event page type you get a Group node (Event) edit page

Fill in the title field as briefly yet descriptively as possible, bearing in mind that users browsing search engines may not use the same terms as Barnardo's for some events. If in doubt, google search for the event you have in mind using different keywords and see what people are calling it. If necessary, use additional keywords in the banner description and teaser text.

Select the event type. This is important to enable the user to navigate to your event or to use filtered search. You can select more than one event type if appropriate.

Click Banner settings and add text to the banner description field. Keep it short and upbeat. You can also add an image to the banner field if appropriate.

Copy the same text to the teaser description field. DO NOT add an image to the teaser field.

Then select Text block and describe the event briefly. Very important for the tone here to match the type of event. For example, the language for extreme sports challenge events should be more upbeat and playful than for adoption evenings.

Add call to action components to the body text where appropriate.

Fill in the entry fee, time, start and end dates fields where appropriate. Only start and end dates are mandatory. Any fields you don’t fill in will not appear on the published page.  It's also VERY IMPORTANT to fill in the unpublish date in the scheduling options block on the right – if you don't do this, the page will stay published, cluttering up Barnardo's website with out-of-date events.

Fill in the fields in the call to action block if the user has to go somewhere else to register/pay for the event.

Fill in the minimum sponsorship if appropriate.
